The Order of the Arrow prides itself on our commitment to service to others. In 2008, the National OA held an incredible event called ArrowCorps5. Over 5000 Arrowmen worked at five national locations to build trail, remove debris, improve soil and water conservation efforts. Together, the OA made a lasting impact on our environment at the tune of nearly $10 million dollars in service hours.

The SR Section 8 is pleased to support our Arrowmen in continuing the mission for conservation through trail crew programs. SR8 Trail Crew program first began at the 2017 Buffalo National River Trail Crew. Arrowmen came together to help build a Mountain Biking Trail with the leadership of nationally-trained Crew Foremen. Special thanks to the Wachtschu Mawachpo Lodge for hosting this amazing event. In 2019, we installed several miles of trail at Z-Base, near Skiatook, OK.

SR8 Trail Crew – 2021 will construct a lasting, 10 mile loop around Camp Simpson with a focus on unused acres west of Lake Sam Noble. Arrowmen will work with Nationally-trained Crew Foremen and others in their Crew to focus on a small section of the main trail. In the evenings, participants may attend Arrowman Conservation School. Each crew will have three days of Trail Crew work, and an adventurous day of recreation including shooting sports, fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking.

Camp Simpson is located near Bromide, OK, and includes 2,200 acres in an outcropping of the Arbuckle Mountains on beautiful Lake Sam Noble. It’s 2 hours south of Oklahoma City and just under 3 hours from Tulsa, OK.

Participants will enjoy camping in the new BSA canvas tents on metal frames, and modern shower house / restrooms. Participants need to provide their own cot or sleeping pad. Electricity is limited, and C-PAP user should consider bringing a battery system. The cost is only $100 for a full week of fun, service and fellowship
